Hello December

Before the next post, I’m sure you would have been flooded with ‘Happy New Month’ text messages from friends, relatives, associates, and colleagues as December walks in today. When you take a deep breath, do you smell the festive season?

A wonderful world it would be if every month could be just like December. Did you know that the month of December originally had just 30 days according to the early Roman calendar? When the calendar was changed to the Julian calendar, December gained a day, making it the seventh and last month in the year with 31 days. Don’t worry, this is not a history class. Just a fun fact that might help you win Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in the nearest future.

December is full of end-of-year reflections. We face constant messages about New Year’s resolutions that ask us to evaluate our lives, identify shortcomings and disappointments, and create promises of change. We also reflect on how our lives might look different now than in the past, and that means remembering the people, families, and loved ones who may no longer be sitting at the table with us.

However, we are grateful to be among the "living" as we see the final month of the year. From January, the first month of the year, to December, the last, we are navigating the obstacles of the year with success.

December is also difficult at work. We face stressful end-of-the-year deadlines and lots of activities to attend. Thousands of Nigerians from around the globe make a triumphant return home every December not just to reunite with relatives and friends. “I just got back” Conversations go choke!

The phrase ‘Detty December’, is a term that has come to mean a lot of things, and this includes, a time to relax and trigger the holiday feel. What plans do you have for December to unwind the year 2023 and usher in 2024? If you haven’t made plans, it’s fine. You can access Travooler's plans for December.

To make the year a memorable one, Travooler is organizing end-of-the-year tours to different locations in Nigeria and around the world. Among these tours is a 2 nights and 3 days trip to IITA located in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The tour includes activities such as a night at IITA, TLM (Travooler_la_Maison), breakfast and dinner, a train ride, and Amala hunt among other fun activities.
